Housing Officer, Part-time, 6 months FTC

Part time Housing Officer, 6 months fixed term - 23 Hours per week, £22,467 - £25,308 pa pro rata

Yarrow is a not for profit organisation based in London supporting people with learning disabilities to live independently in their local community.

Our approach is person centred which involves offering support tailored to the individual’s needs and ensuring that their choices and aspirations are at the forefront of what we do, and how we do it.

The ideal candidate will enjoy working flexibly across all aspects of housing, tenancy and property management and enjoy working as part of a small friendly dynamic team.

You will be responsible for the delivery of all aspects of housing management including voids and lettings, rent arrears recovery, repairs reporting, Anti-social behaviour and other related case work to support people to maintain their tenancies.

As Yarrow acts as a managing agent and reports regularly to our partner landlords, your responsibilities will include completing quarterly reports and monitoring landlord performance to ensure they are meeting their responsibilities.

You will need experience of working in a special needs/supported housing environment. Ideally you will have had relevant experience of generic housing management/property management, either from a general rented or supported housing environment, however, this is not essential and more important will be your ‘can-do attitude’ the ability to work independently and learn quickly.

You will have excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and manage a busy workload, along with keen attention to detail and the ability to manage data taken from spreadsheets and databases.

Ideally, you will need a sound understanding of best practice in housing management and be able to apply this to a special needs environment.

In return for your hard work, we will support your learning and development ambitions by offering you opportunities to learn about housing, tenancy and property management within a supported housing setting.

We can also offer some flexibility with regards to your working pattern providing this is within core office hours.

A good standard of written English and numeracy is also required.
