Vulnerable witness training for police officers

Yarrow has developed a unique training programme for the Metropolitan Police that has resulted in officers across 32 London boroughs being better equipped to interview and communicate with vulnerable adults.

The Met needed to address the low conviction rate where people with learning disabilities were witnesses or victims, but whose evidence was being discredited.

Over 400 detectives on the advanced Achieving Best Evidence course have now been trained.  The programme was shortlisted for the UK National Training Award.
